On the 23-24th May 2015….
An overnight stay on Holy Island is always very relaxing.
During our visit this weekend, we recorded 4 Sedge Warblers, 2 Chiffchaffs, 8 Linnet, 1 Greenfinch, 8-10 Chaffinch and lots of House Sparrow, Meadow Pipit and Skylark.
Highlights included a single Wheatear and a group of thirteen Roe Deer.
In the village House Martins and Swallows were busy with another breeding season. Waders were a little thin on the ground with only some Ringed Plover, Oystercatchers and Redshanks recorded.
The old hide at the Lough has been removed and work is well advanced on building a new hide. It looks great already and we are looking forward to using this when it is finished.
