A Day Out at Druridge

Home A Day Out at Druridge

On the 20th February 2015….

Cresswell and Druridge Pools were quiet today, with the numbers of wildfowl and waders particularly low. The highlight was a beautiful Little Egret at Cresswell where there was also three Little Grebe. At Druridge Pools, there were earlier sightings of a Pintail, however after an hour of searching this did not reveal itself.

QEII Country Park was however full of life, with hundreds of birds enjoying the sunshine. All four species of Crow were present, including Jackdaw, Carrion, Magpie and Rook, together with a large selection of Black-headed Gulls, some of which had their brown chocolate coloured heads.
