On the 14th April 2015….
For my birding today I fancied somewhere relaxing, where there was a chance of spring visitors. Big Waters Nature Reserve was top of my list.
Chiffchaffs and Willow Warblers could be heard and seen close to the bird hide. The highlight of the day involved a pair of Garganey and Willow Tits. There were no rings on the Willow Tits, so these were different birds to my previous visits.
Flying high over the pond I recorded Swallow, House Martin and Sand Martin.
On the feeders, it was nice to see four Yellowhammers and a Collared Dove, which are birds I don’t see there as often nowadays.
