On Sunday 31st July 2016…
An area of wet grassland at Newton Pool was looking great for waders this sunday and there was a a good selection present. These included Black-tailed Godwit, Dunlin, Curlew, Lapwing, Ruff, Greenshank and Snipe. No sign of the recent Pectoral Sandpiper however.
The pool at Newton is one of the most attractive nature reserves in Northumberland.
Nearby a couple of Stonechats were very vocal and a fledged bird was nearby.
